Janet has worked for the past 22 years in a wide range of care settings at the community

level for non-profits and social service organizations. She is an ordained minister who specializes in community based outreach, and holds advanced degrees from the University of Victoria and Regent College. She has extensive experience counselling people in addiction, coping with grief & loss issues, mental health challenges & crisis care, as well as working with front line workers and first responders.

  • Engages in trauma-informed counselling practices.
  • Uses narrative, strengths-based & solution focused practices.
  • Has 10 years’ experience providing counselling for adults, in both individual & group settings.
  • Has specialized training in complex trauma, substance use & developing resilience.
  • Has extensive experience in grief & addiction counselling.
  • Has 15 years’ experience in front line urban outreach work.
  • Has served in the RCMP as a law enforcement chaplain.

Debbie is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and has been in practice for 20 years, including seven years with the government as a Child & Youth Mental Health Clinician in 100 Mile House.

Debbie currently has a private practice in the comfortable setting of her home in 108 Mile Ranch.
She provides services for adults, seniors, families, and adolescents.

Her services are covered by most Employee and Family Assistance Plans (EFAP) through major employers. Fee for service is available at reasonable rates.

Areas of specialty are: anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), childhood trauma, grief & loss, women’s issues, anger management, work stress and burnout, self-esteem, perfectionism, shame & guilt, child behaviour problems, ADHD, couple/family relationships, narcissism, and step family issues.
Debbie uses a holistic and strengths-based approach to work with clients to build resiliency and address client goals.

Debbie teaches about the importance of a healthy lifestyle which includes learning about the brain, improving day to day choices, and changing negative thoughts using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
Debbie has been married to Grant for 24 years and has two married stepsons, one daughter, and one grandson.
